⅔cupflour
1lbground breakfast sausage
3tbsbutter or sausage grease
3cupsmilk at room temperature
3tbsminced onions
pinchof garlic powder
1/2tspsalt or to taste
1/2tspblack pepper or to taste

Step 1: In a cold pan crumble and brown breakfast sausage.
Step 2 : Toward the end of the browning add minced onion and cook until soft.
Step 3 : Add flour, salt and pepper and garlic powder to pan with browned sausage. Mix well, stir until flour is well coated with grease from sausage. If not enough sausage grease add butter.
Step 4 :Turn off heat and cool. Stir occassionally. Let sit for a few minutes.(takes away the flour taste)
Step 5 : Reheat on medium heat and add a Tablespoon of butter if no grease left in pan.
Step 6 : Add room temperature milk slowly while stirring until mixture is fully blending. Turn down to low for 5-10 minutes. Add more milk if needed until your desired consistency is reached.
